and as we lie beneath the stars we realize how small we are The beacon's glow grew bigger as Kino approached it, her eyes scanning the large stone tower it sat on. The time was midnight, bathing the area in shadows. The full moon illuminated her silver fur even when she stepped past shadows.
Soon, the silver eevee paused at the towers base, wondering if it was possible to enter it so she could climb to the beacon. The view of the town would be so beautiful from the top of the tower, thus she had to find a way in. She considered climbing up the outside, but after examining it more closely she discarded the idea; it was simply too risky. Lowering her nose to the cool stone she breathed in the scents is offered, trying to see if maybe they'd giver a clue to how to reach the beacon if such was even possible.
So engrossed in the task at hand, she didn't realize that there was perhaps another presence ihiding in the shadows, watching her.

From the shadows watched Felix, his eyes being the only break in the shadows as he sliunk about among the dark depths. He watched the small form of an Eevee, the glow from the floating lights above the tower illuminating everything around them and basking the already moon-bathed land in wondrous light. She continued to walk farther and father to the base of the tower, to which he warily began to approach.
His eyes glanced around the area, searching the darker parts for any others, others that could spot him sneaking on her and come to her rescue, as if they could stop him. Felix, chuckling at the thought of him pummeling some sorry shrimp, hushed his small laughter, instead silently pushing forwards until he was about two feet away from the engrossed stranger. He halted, and waited there for a moment, his shadow rippling as the lights shifted atop the Beacon.
Suddenly, the Buizel sprang, aiming to clasp his paw across Kino's mouth and move close to her short whispers flying through his mouth. "Stay quiet and I won't hurt you." His voice was quiet, smooth, yet it seemed as if such an action was just impulsive, it wad obvious he thought none of this through and what to do once someone else spotted him.

and as we lie beneath the stars we realize how small we are A sound caught her ears, alerting her to the fact that she wasn't alone, but she reacted to late as a weight crashed into her. She lost her balance and fell onto her back and while she was still dazed as to what was going on a paw clasped around her mouth. A whispered voice told her to keep quiet, not like she had a choice right now with her mouth being held shut.
Instead of struggling to get free, however, the silver eevee relaxed. Kino was unfazed by the whole sequence of events. Sure, she was a bit rattled after being surprised like that but once she got a glimpse of her attacker in the light any fear she might have felt evaporated.
Clearly showing on her face now was an unimpressed expression and a look in her golden eyes that said "what are you doing?". She wasn't worried about what the buizel might to to her; she could hold her own in a fight.

The Buizel glanced around the area again, before looking down to the Eevee, eyes widening as he spotted the unimpressed twinkle in her eyes, earning a very large frown from him. His two, long tails lashed and spun in annoyance and anger at the unfazed expression of his 'victim'. Was he not cut out for this intimidation thing? Baring his teeth, he shook his head and forced to shrug it off, instead growling to her.
"Yeah, whatever idiot. Give me all your money." He growled down to her, giving her a few small shakes as he said so. If she wasn't going to take him seriously, he wouldn't try to act serious, what was the point if you weren't going to get a reaction out of it? Grumbling again, he felt the overwhelming urge to hit someone, but resisted the tempting, promising to himself that maybe if she didn't feel like forking over her money, he could get some action.
Recognizing that they were still in the broad light that shimmered out from the Beacon, Felix began tugging at the shiny Eevee, sending a fierce glare down to her.

and as we lie beneath the stars we realize how small we are Okay, that did it. No one tried to force money out of her like this and got away with it, not like she had money on her person anyway. Her expression switched to an irritated one, her eyes narrowing when he started shaking her. Raising her hind legs she pushed against him, trying to get him off of her. If he wanted action he was sure as hell gonna to get it.

The beacon, simultaneously their prison and their save heaven. It kept the fog away, but it could not vanquish it; so what use did it have? The legends speak of a challenge, a challenge Vanitas was willing to face. Whatever that ancient one was... he would find that monster and bring an end to this sick attempt of unification; if the legend was true. He would rise above that twisted being and establish the foundation of a true, beautiful world, like an Aurora appearing in the night sky. "No matter the odds..." Van whispered to himself.
He witnessed the impudent Felix and... a shiny eevee... interacting with each other. A dark pokemon had to problem using his senses in the middle of the night. Wait, was Felix ambushing the eevee? Arg... he knew there was something fishy with that rascal. Yes, definetly an outlaw! From the shadow, dark as the night himself, Vanitas witnessed everything. Such a disgusting waste of pokemon potential. It sickened Van in the same way the fog did. The silver Eevee attempted to free herself, but thus far with no results.
But Vanitas had an... 'idea'. Why not give that Buizel a nice scare for his life. Van stood there, at the very edge of the beacon of the light, open for everyone to see... at least his eyes. His red eyes were like a veil of pure evil, detached from any form of body in the dark. Only his humongous claws reflected a tiny amount of light, giving the indication that this 'shadow entity' had any body at all. And Vanitas was glaring at the Buizel, his claws splayed.

Felix struggled against the Eevee furiously, his dark eyes shrouded by the night glimmering in frustration as she attempted to wriggle out of his hold and further away from him. It looked like she wanted a fight, from her silence and from the irritated glint he caught in her eyes. Now, unable to hold the anger he had managed not to enthuse, he leapt back, simultaneously letting her go. His two tails swished and swirled, he looked about ready to let all hell loose as he began to ready himself into a position adept for fighting. Sure, he wasn't going to fight initially, but... He didn't stick to plans.
Momentarily, he looked over his shoulder, as if trying to catch any unwanted visitors and frighten them off. He didn't catch the glowing red from the shadows at first, but as he began to turn his head back, he saw something, lurking in the dark and masked by night. The beam of red glimmered out of the darkness and bore into his frame, it sent shivers down his back and caused him to jump slightly. The light of the Beacon vaguely outlined the shape of claws, they glimmered and shone and gave the Buizel a sense of dread. But he wasn't going to back down - no, in fact, he got angry.
He jumped to face the distraction, growling and baring and gnashing his teeth, as if hoping to scare this thing away. He finally resorted to yelling at whoever was leering at him. "Go away! This doesn't concern you!" He yelled furiously, snapping one last time before turning back to face the Eevee, even if he did occasionally look over his shoulder. Whoever it was, he didn't want it to get involved with him or anything around him.

and as we lie beneath the stars we realize how small we are Kino scrambled to her paws and shook the dust out of her fur after the buizel finally let her go. She watched with an expression that bordered on amusement when he took a battle stance, tails lashing. Was he really going to fight her? She wasn't doubting his own battle skills but she couldn't help but laugh silently at the fact that he clearly didn't think this through properly.
She watched as he glanced over his shoulder, presumably to check for others. His movement allowed her to see the red eyes as well, and after being scared briefly she realized that they were just eyes. They had unnerved her a bit but she wasn't going to show that they had. After all, she didn't know if the one the eyes belonged to was on her side or not.
The buizel became angry at the other, shouting at them before turning back to her. She kept her gaze on him, waiting for him to make the first move.

Well... it kinda worked. It at the very least distracted and uneased Felix. It was not the effect he had hoped for, but it was better tha nothing. Oh but Felix was wrong, this concerned the Sneasel a ton. The Eevee much less. But... she appeared she was motivated to fight. Might as well keep the disguise up and give that Eevee a chance to fight for herself. However, Van briefly responded to Felix with a short, deep cackle.
However, Van would have some fun. Closing his eyes, he appeared to ran off during what appeared to be a battle. He always changed position, staring at them like a hostile spectre, or better yet like a phantom. Maybe it would bring that Buizel to become paranoid and run off. And if not, Van at least had his fun and could observe a decent fight.
