T he Town Square was bustling withPokemon of all different kinds and all different walks of life, milling around eachother and happily chattering. They converged around a huge statue, it sat there like a dove waiting for her children, completely useless and without a purpose in the large, bustling town of Andalusst. At the base of it's stand, an Explorer sat, her eyes staring up at the huge thing. Usually, Roheline did not ponder of many things. She went along her day without a care in the world, it was like her set schedule had become simple muscle-memory, and she hadn't thought of anything outside of such muscle-memory. However, her trip to the bustling square of the town made her rethink about the legends of how Andalusst was made. It wrote of a creator, a creator that cast the fog on the land to bring Pokemon together, but she couldn't help but wonder why such a huge statue was never mentioned. It was obvious it had existed for the longest time. Workers stopped trying to keep up with the rapidly growing wildlife ages ago, they let nature take over the aged stone as it decayed and decayed and decayed, vines beginning to run down it. She was confused about the fact that shrub was growing so dense in stone, but she had a feeling other issues were much more pressing. How had the statue gotten there? Why did she not know of such a pokemon? If it was a historical statue, wouldn't there be a plaque at it's base? She tested this. She took a few steps forward, dodging the bodies of able Pokemon as they quickly moved to accommodate her movement. Her nose was now nearly touching the very tips of the rock, which gave off a particularily musty aroma as she began to search for any sign such a thing was ever even built in the first place. Her head rose for a couple of seconds, before returning to a resting point as she began to circle around the stand of the huge building. Nothing. No plaque, no information, no nothing. She returned to her spot in the crowd, her eyes continuing to peek above various moving heads to gaze up at the eroding statue, confusion beginning to register in her head.

a large yawn broke through his lips, forcing his jaws apart and baring his teeth and tongue. he moved to cover his mouth with one of his hands, only to find that he had moved too slowly. by the time his hand reached his mouth, well, the yawn was over. he kept his hand over his mouth for a few moments as he toddled along. his movements were slow and uneven, and he was pretty sure he ran into that buneary over there. oops, there he went running into a grovyle. " s-sorry," he mumbled, his voice soft and slurred before another yawn erupted. this time, his hand was ready to catch it. the young abra had recently woken up. well, young probably wasn't the best term to use for his evolutionary line, but he would rather not think about his lifespan if he manages to reach the same stage as his face. but, he was getting off topic. he had recently woken up after sleeping through the night and most of the day. he even went to bed early, so it was a wonder to most why he was still so tired. trying to use as little energy as possible, he tried to block out the thoughts of all the pokemon around him. this result backfired, causing him to use more just to keep himself from faltering. he needed to get to a cleared out area, someplace far away from the hustle and bustle of town. or maybe he could get above them. the abra halted his steps, tilting his chin up as his closed eyes peered up at the seemingly ancient statue in dire need of a cleanup. he felt like he should know what this pokemon was... well, he did. he just didn't want to recall the information right now. he might end up with an onslaught of thoughts, a migraine, and his body's natural reaction to teleport. though, he did want to see if the reception was worse on top of the giant statue... but then he might get into trouble. that would burden his parents, and then... maybe he should just go home and go back to sleep. that sounded like a great idea. or he could just stand in the middle of a busy crowd.

H er thoughts continued to race on what the stupid thing was and why it was there in the first place. Sure, it was odd to be thinking so deeply about such a trivial thing, but since the Electrike usually didn't think so deeply about anything, perhaps it was just a tiny bit normal to finally realize that the humongous statue was a mysterious enigma. Her eyes continued to raise to take in everything of the stone giant, her eyes catching on the large tufts of foliage between it's shoulder plates, narrowing her optics in suspicion. She didn't have much knowledge of plants, but even the dog-like Pokemon knew that shrubs did not grow in complete rock. She never even considered the thought that maybe the fog was messing everything up and that it even carried all the plant seeds with it, but had she thought of it, she would have known it was an unlikely chance. Roheline was going to gander and mind-boggle at everything the statue had to live for, that is, until a conveniently placed head shrouded her vision. Her lips pressed into a frown as she tried to go up on her toes to see more of her spectacle, but it just wasn't happening. Huffing angrily, she went back to normal level and pushed her self a few steps forward, coming adjacent to Abra and taking a glance towards him. He looked exhausted. Like he had stayed up all night and then didn't take a nap after the sleepiness was too pressing to handle. It was odd, but she was sure the guy was okay, if he had the nerve to step right in front of her view. Breathing out so she didn't just go off on the stranger, she managed to compose her voice. "You blocked my view." She stated bluntly, her mouth still squeezed firmly into a frown.

hm... yup, going back home was probably his best course of action. it wasn't like he actually had anything to do today... well, he could do his job, but he was absolutely useless on his own unless he went for recon missions and anything that required him to teleport around until he found his target. that sounded absolutely exhausting, so, unless he was told to do so, he was going to sleep instead. another yawn was caught by his hand, and the abra figured he might as well just keep his hand over his mouth to conserve energy. small yellow claw-like fingers curled around the base of his mouth, keeping just enough space so he had room to breathe. after all, covering his mouth pretty much meant he was covering his nose, too, since his short snout kept him from doing it in any easier way. his body visibly flinched and his claws dug a little too deep into the sensitive skin around his snout, causing the abra to let out a gasp rather than a yawn. yet, he refused to remove his hand. he resorted to loosening his grip on his own face, but taht was all he willed himself to do. the abra let out a shaky breath as he turned his head towards the source of a voice that he assumed was directed at him, pulling his hand with him. despite his eyes never once opening, he could see the pokemon in question quite clearly. or, rather, he could see the pokemon's energy. that energy told him that it was a female, an electric type, and currently hostile. " but," came his quiet, muffled voice, barely heard over the crowd by anyone who wasn't close enough. " you're... you're not behind me. how have i blocked your view?" obviously he didn't notice the pokemon standing behind him when he suddenly stopped his own steps out of the blue. huh. this is what happened when he tried to block out the energy and thoughts of those around him and got lost in his thoughts. pokemon snuck up on him.

T he Abra in front of her seemed to jump as if she had scared him, turning his head to her and staring at her - er, not really staring at her, with his closed eyes and all. A gasp flied from his maw, of which was masked by the hand he clamped over it with the claws digging into his snout, probably a sign of his sever shock of her presence. Her frown deepened as she stared at him. The next words out him was along of the lines of 'you were never behind me', and at this, the Electrike's frown showed her teeth slightly, even though she seemed to be doing a good job of masking her frustration with her voice, at least. She responded quickly and with little restraint, although she made sure to keep her voice level and as calm as she could force it to be. "I used to be behind you." She muttered, although she wasn't surprised he hadn't noticed her, he looked like he had just risen from the dead. Roheline suddenly turned and glanced back up at the colossal, mystery statue, her eyes sifting through the expanse of rock and exquisite carving, her eyes lingering on each of the sparkling gems that lined various parts and pieces of it's body. "I was looking at that weird statue." She added, momentarily glancing back towards the Abra, then returning to the unknown Pokemon sitting in the middle of Town Square. Thinking about it so long, she had grown to dislike it, although she did wish she could climb up there and snatch the jewels from it's stone.

oh, dear, her hostility levels were rising. was it something he said? of course it was something he said! it was always something he said. his ears twitched at her words, though the action itself was minute and barely visible without close observation of his ears. so, he had missed something. of course, of course! she had been behind him! but, so had a lot of other pokemon. a lot of other pokemon. " i, uh... i-i'm sorry, miss. i wa-wasn't paying attention." at least he was willing to admit it when it was shoved in his face. his gut twisted and turned at the thought of having dazed off so much that he had missed someone standing behind him! let alone someone who had already been there in the first place. the abra shifted uncomfortably as the electrike seemed to focus on the statue. he slowly turned his head towards the statue, idly flicking his long tail. " what's weird about it, miss?" he should probably remove his hand from his mouth, yet he waited just a moment longer as another yawn nearly cut off his words. as soon as his jaw could close again, his hand slipped off of his snout and crossed over to clasp his other arm, scratching slightly at his elbow. he remained silent despite wanting to ask if she knew anything about the statue. he was going to wait for her hostility levels to go down first, however, because it terrified him just to be standing next to someone who had already flashed their canines at him.

R oheline's eyes shifted to stare at the Abra via. sideways glance, watching as he seemed to blubber out an apology very quickly, his voice stammering and stuttering all throughout. Pursing her lips, she supposed she was satisfied, considering he did have the decency to apologize, so her hostility slowly converged into a more calm demeanor as she moved her eyes back to the huge statue. "Apology accepted." She replied, forcing any and all emotion from her voice. He asked something about why she was suspicious of the statue, and she quickly responded, her optics straightening slightly. "Why would somebody carve some Pokemon that nobody knows about?" She wondered, head tilting back slightly to take in the whole carving, eyes caught onto the gleaming red, green and yellow gems inbedded in various places on it's long torso. "Don't you think it's weird that anybody even found a rock that collossal?" She wondered again, turning her head back to the Abra, as if for guidance.

somebody has to have known about it in order to carve it. or, maybe somebody made it up completely! after all, the imagination was endless if you had the right mind, or maybe if you had a toddler feeding you poorly drawn ideas that you crafted into works of art. "... or maybe it's not even a statue." the words left his mouth before he could stop himself, making his thoughts audible without intending to. he did not bother to correct himself, however, instead just hoping his voice was soft enough that the electrike hadn't heard him over the rumble of the crowd passing by. it made perfect sense to him, though the thought itself might seem absurd to anyone else.
a hum vibrated his snout as he tilted his head back and forth, twitching his ears as he thought. thinking was much easier than speaking. he did not have to worry about saying something wrong that would upset or offend anyone, and he could write a book without anyone judging him. it kept his mind busy so he could more easily block out the thoughts of others. yet, when his thoughts became reality, things got a little sticky. lack of filter in his mind meant a lack of filter in his mouth. so, he bit down on his tongue, trying to keep himself from blurting out anything else strange. it was when his tongue was starting to numb that he released his sensitive flesh from its hold. "perhaps they ventured into the fog and found a mountain with giant boulders... or just broke the mountain themselves. there are 'mon strong enough for that." chomp. back down on his tongue. it had enough free time.

N o, she didn't hear the quiet, soft voice of the chatter of the crowd that milled around them, the two being a break in the fast moving pace of many different Pokemon. She wasn't used to such large crowds, but she supposed that since many people had to escape the fog, they must've just come here, and perhaps that was why Andalusst was so large. Momentarily, she wondered if there were any other towns outside of Andalusst, but she quickly passed that thought off. The land around them was filled with Mystery Dungeons, what city could fit between them? When the Abra mentioned that other Pokemon could break off rock from mountains, she dug her canines into her lower lip to stop a scoff from escaping her. She frankly couldn't believe it, sure, she knew others were strong, but breaking off a slab of rock that humongous? She just couldn't manage to grasp her mind around such a concept. So, in a calm voice so she didn't come off as too angry, she shrugged slightly. "Naaah."

the electrike did not seem to believe him one bit. he spoke nothing but the truth! and quite a few opinions... but, he was not going to comment on it. he would let her go on believing that no pokemon was strong enough to break and lift a rock that size. yet, he knew that a golurk or a hariyama could easily chip off the stone. then it was a matter of getting it somewhere... a few golurk and hariyama? or a bunch of psychic types... a metagross probably had the psychic ability to move such a large chunk of rock.
the abra found his head tilting forwards as he began to nod off. in the middle of the street. huh. was it nap time already? a yawn broke through his mouth again, and his hand moved up to catch it once more. he lifted up his other hand, using both to rub his eyes. "well... whoever made it had a lot of time on their hands..." he assumed they had hands for craftsmanship. if they did all of that work with paws, then they must have been blessed with a wonderful gift by some divine spirit. another yawn, this time a little more audibly with a soft hwuah as the breath escaped his lips.

H er eyes returned to the edifice, the cacophony of the crowd becoming a dull constant in her mind as she began to tune it out, becoming callous to the sound around her, ignoring the bedlam. Her eyes peered into statue, finding all the little imperfections of the abortive building in no time. But, she supposed it could have just been time debilitating it and making the little mistakes she found, but it was no matter, the whole thing just seemed absurd. The stone carving just belied all reason to her, even if such a thing was silly to get worked up about. She glanced back over, watching as the Abra's jaws moved to accommodate a yawn, earning another frown to paint over her face. He seemed to be nodding off, and she didn't find doing such a thing very polite. She had heard once that Abra's slept over 15 hours a day, and she didn't understand why he would still feel the need to sleep in the middle of a conversation. She turned back with a silent huff. "I guesssss.... But still, to build something with literally no use? Must have been messed up.""

there was a shrug of his shoulders, lifting the brown 'plating' before letting it descend to its original resting place. he was not one to ponder upon why for too long. perhaps that was why his father pressured him to take his time thinking about something. he gave it a quick thought, figured whatever he came up with was good enough, and switched onto the next topic. why was something so seemingly useless built? probably because they could. or, "perhaps it was for religious purposes. looks like a pretty powerful 'mon to me, so maybe the 'mon of old worshiped it." his words were broken by another yawn, and the abra shook his head, twitched his ears, and rubbed his eyes.
then came the dull throbbing in his head as he let his guard down for a moment too long. the voices of everyone walking by began to disrupt his thoughts, bickering about this and that while different pokemon passed by them. "i, um... i'm sorry, miss, but i need to cut this encounter short." he turned towards the electric type, politely bowing down. "it was a pleasure to meet you, miss electrike." with that, his form distorted and paused for a moment, still bowing, before a pokemon walked through the still frame without even noticing it. the illusion of the abra disappeared without a trace.
ooc: decided not to drag on the encounter since... they aren't philosophers. pf.

S he watched as he continued to part his jaws to let out breaths of air as a sign of his own sleepiness, her face pressed into a new expression of neutrality, of which seemed to be forced. Her eyes grew more and more dull and her natural calm demeanor returned. She was no longer hostile and angry, and thinking back on everything, a useless statue was nothing to get so worked up over. She probably embarrassed herself, but at that moment, she did not mind anymore. Perhaps the debate was fun while it lasted. Glancing back to the Abra, she nodded, even though she quite barely heard what he said. Instead, she looked back up, and stared at the gems. She wanted them, if only she had a flying type partner to go up and snatch them. She watched as he seemed to take his leave, apologizing, to which she shrugged. "Okay. See you around." That sentence was all she replied with, taking one last glance up to the Regigigas statue. She studied and shook her pelt slightly, immersed into the fast-moving crowd and engulfed in the chatter that rose in an uproar. Idly, she began to take the path back to the Explorer's Guild - perhaps it was back to muscle-memory again. Maybe she'd find something else stupid enough to get worked up over, but she supposed there was a slim chance. Usually, everything in Andalusst made sense to her.
